GreenSuppliers
We have created carefully curated lists of suppliers who provide climate-friendly products and services to cultural producers. The lists are available to GPC members in our Club Portal, and you can read the criteria for the lists on this page.
In the Green Producers Club, we are committed to providing support and climate advice to our members, going beyond just the Green Producers Tool. One of our services is the Club Portal - a resource hub where members can access a range of resources on green production.
Within the Club Portal, members gain access to a diverse array of resources, including the climate research done by Cicero, crew and production guides, instructional videos, and lists of Green Suppliers.
The Green Suppliers lists are carefully curated by our team, in dialogue with our members. They feature suppliers who prioritize eco-friendly practices and offer products and services that support green production. They are continuously updated to offer the latest climate-friendly options. As of February 2024, we only have lists of Norwegian suppliers but they will be developed for the rest of the Nordic countries as well, as part of our EU Project to expand GPC to the Nordics.
We divide our Green Suppliers lists into two main categories:
- Suppliers who are members of the Green Producers Club and meet our criteria below.
- Suppliers who meet our criteria but are not members.
We make this distinction because the suppliers who are GPC members have access to Green Producers Tool and can assist producers in filling out their emission reports in GPT, in addition to providing greener products and/or services. Suppliers who are GPC members are thus committed to collaborating with other members inside the Tool and assisting them in emission reductions and reporting.
We value input from our members and suppliers who wish to be featured on the Green Supplier lists, or who have suggestions from other companies that should be included. Your feedback and suggestions are crucial to us, so please contact us.
We warmly welcome suppliers who are interested in becoming members of the Club to contact us.
GREEN SUPPLIERS CRITERIA
Suppliers must fulfil a minimum of two or more of the following criteria to be on our supplier lists in the Club Portal:
- GPC membership
A GPC membership entails a signed commitment to reduce emissions from the cultural sector in line with the Paris Agreement. This includes continuously improving routines, products and services in order to become more sustainable. A membership also proves a supplier's commitment and interest in sustainability.
- Provide sustainable options compared to competitors
Suppliers must demonstrate efforts to reduce emissions and promote sustainable production methods compared to conventional alternatives.
Example: An individual/company renting out clothing versus purchasing new clothes.
- Innovative sustainable products and/or services
Suppliers should offer products/services that are at the forefront of green innovation in their industry.
Example: An equipment rental company offering rechargeable generators versus generators using diesel.
- Use sustainable options in daily practices
Suppliers should continuously be choosing and preferring more sustainable options in their own daily practices.
Example: Using an electrical car sharing service rather than owning their own fossil fuel car.
- Climate-friendly certification or documentation
Suppliers must provide evidence, such as certifications, emissions reports or other relevant documentation showcasing the climate-friendliness of their products/services.
Example: We will look at and assess the holistic documentation provided by the supplier, including relevant certifications such as Svanemerket, EcoLabel, Miljøfyrtårn, ISO14001, etc.
- Pushing for more sustainable practices in their value-chains
Suppliers should be proactive in discussing and requesting increasingly sustainable options, utilizing their influence to promote greener practices throughout their value chains.
Example: A supplier asking for certification, more sustainable options or putting pressure on their own suppliers.
